GEORGE CHRISTENSEN NEEDS TO CUT THE CORD

May 23, 2018

With Pauline Hanson’s latest backflip, Malcolm Turnbull’s $80 billion tax cut for big business is now hanging by a thread.

Now is the time for George Christensen to cut the cord.

Mr Christensen’s continued support for this $80 billion tax cut shows just how little much he prioritises keeping Malcolm Turnbull happy, over the needs of his electorate.

In fact, recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has shown that only six businesses based in Christensen’s electorate of Dawson will benefit from the tax cut.

We already knew that Australian workers would only get a trickle of the billions handed to the banks and big businesses.

But now we know that regional Queensland won’t even get a trickle!

So why is George Christensen still supporting these tax cuts?

Especially when they are being funded by cuts to local schools, hospitals and pensioners.

George Christensen might like to paint himself as a maverick back home, but his continued support of these $80 billion tax cuts in Canberra shows that he will always back Malcolm Turnbull over his own voters.

Despite all Christensen’s talk of holding the banks to account, he is still going to give them a $17 billion tax handout.

It’s about time Christensen put his voters first and withdrew his support for these tax cuts.

A FAIR GO FOR AUSTRALIA
